A little about me
Thanks for taking a moment to visit my blog.
Here you will mostly find my random thoughts too long to post on twitter, but I also use this site to keep my friends and family up to date on my recovery from sudden cardiac arrest in April of 2010. It’s a long story but I basically died on a street corner when I had a heart attack during an afternoon run. At 32 years of age and in relatively good shape, this was quite a surprise. Due to a series of fortunate events I survived. I’m grateful to be alive today.
I’m married to local photographer, Crystal Clark, other wise know by her Roller Derby name, Chesty Pains (she skates with the Twin City Derby Girls). Together we have 2 children, Cloe Grace (yes, without the ‘h’) and Hudson Ian (H.I. like in the movie Raising Arizona). I also serve as an elder for Crossroads Church in Monticello, IL and swim with the Decatur Swim Club.
I’m a die hard Nebraska Cornhusker fan, Martial Arts enthusiast, theology and Bible nerd, and I’m really bad at spelling.
You can also find me on twitter Follow @iantclark and facebook.
The title of this website was inspired by a passage written by the apostle Paul:
Although we live in the world, we don’t fight our battles with human methods. 4 Our weapons that we fight with aren’t human, but instead they are powered by God for the destruction of fortresses. They destroy arguments, 5 and every defense that is raised up to oppose the knowledge of God. They capture every thought to make it obedient to Christ. – 2 Corinthians 10.3-5 CEB
